Routes to Lee Chapel, Lee, North Devon, EX34 8LN

There are two main ways to get here. The first is very scenic and avoids Barnstaple. The second route allows those wanting to shop at Tesco's, Sainsbury's or other major shops and goes through Barnstaple.

Route 1

From the M5 Junction 27 take the A361 towards Barnstaple until you reach the junction with the A399. At this roundabout turn right on the A399 towards Blackmoor Gate. (This will also be marked for Woolacombe and Ilfracombe). Proceed through Blackmoor Gate and on before turning left on the A3123 towards Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. Proceed straight on to Mullacoot Cross roundabout, cross straight on towards Woolacombe/Lee on the B3343 for 1.5 miles and turn right at a sign marked Lincombe and Lee.

Continue along this lane, crossing over the disused railway line,after 1 mile you will reach the "Y" junction bear left down the hill passing through the hamlet of Lincombe. As you drop down into the valley you will see a "S" bend sign/Welcome to Lee, just after this you will see the Chapel on your right. Parking is on the opposite side of the road next to the grit/salt dispenser.

Route 2

From the M5 junction 27 take the A361 towards Barnstaple. At Barnstaple take the A39 at the roundabout marked Hospital A&E and Combe Martin. Continue along this road past the Hospital on your right until you meet the fork to the left marked Ilfracombe B3236.

Continue along this road for approximately 8 miles to a crossroads with the Lynton Cross Garage on the right. Take the left turning to Mortehoe and Woolacombe A3123. Continue for approximately 2 miles to the Mullacott Cross roundabout. Proceed straight over on to the B3343 for a further 1.5-2 miles to a turning to the right signed Lee and  Lincombe. Follow this lane crossing over the disused railway line, at the "Y" junction bear left passing through the hamlet of Lincombe. As you drop down into the valley you will see a "S" bend sign/Welcome to Lee, just after this you will see the Chapel on your right. Parking is on the opposite side of the road next to the grit/salt dispenser.
